Minipiles

Keller Ground Engineering offers a range of high capacity small diameter drilled and bored pile systems purposely designed to tackle difficult ground conditions and working in limited space and low headrooms.

Highly versatile, compact but powerful rigs, can install piles in virtually any location whilst being able to tackle drilling through different soils, obstructions and forming substantial rock sockets.

Keller's drilled Minipiles are available in diameters of up to 350mm and in appropriate soil conditions can provide safe working loads in excess of 1000kN. Widely used for refurbishment of buildings, Minipiles are utilised for upgrading of existing foundations by stitch drilling or underpinning and for the provision of retention schemes, i.e. basement walls within limited access and headroom. Keller Minipiles are also used extensively in the infrastructure sector for forming earth retention systems to support unstable embankments and cuttings etc. and strengthening of existing foundations.

The Keller Minipile system operates with very low levels of noise or vibration and is highly suited to built up urban environments. Piles can be constructed in headroom as low as 2.1 metres.

The pile shafts are constructed from cement-based grouts with cage, bar or other reinforcement appropriate to the application

Operating Benefits
Minipile solutions offer high capacities in both tension and compression as the majority of the axial capacity is achieved via skin friction on the pile shaft.

Wide Range of Ground Conditions
Keller Minipiles can be installed using air or water flush, rotary percussive or auger methods, with or without casing to accommodate almost every type of ground in which piles are required.

Penetrates Obstructions
Obstructions arising from buried demolition debris, old basements, foundations, boulders in glacial soils and similar, can be drilled through using Keller Minipiling systems.

Stitch Piling
In underpinning applications Minipiles can be drilled through and bonded to existing foundations.
This obviates the need for temporary support and provides direct intimate connections from the ground through the Minipiles to the structure.

Suitable for Low Headroom and Restricted Access
Keller are able to employ a wide variety of Minipile rigs to suit the particular access and headroom conditions whether on clear, open sites, below bridges or inside old structures or domestic properties.

Minipile Walls
Contiguous or Secant Retaining Walls can be constructed in restricted locations, to deepen existing basements, or to form cut-offs or new basements walls.

Low Noise and Vibration
Keller's Minipile systems assure noise and vibration are kept to a minimum - piles can be constructed to within a few hundred millimetres of adjacent properties.
