Tunnelling

When constructing starter pits Keller's range of grouting systems are frequently used. Soilcrete can be used  to form a firm impermeable block of ground which is subsequently readily excavated. Alternatively, a ring of  interlocking Soilcrete columns or contiguous piles can form the perimeter of shafts.

Where major road or rail  tunnels pass beneath structures soilfrac compensation grouting can be used to re-level the buildings by way of stiff grout injection above the tunnel route. In granular soils, compaction grouting can be  used to arrest potential settlements.

In areas of soft ground a commom problem is the support of major sewers and dry soil mixing has been used to treat organic or very soft clays.
